Creator Ryan Murphy told Variety in October, “Tim Minear and I are crafting a new spinoff that we’re actively writing and hoping to launch next fall. While it was tough to let Lone Star go, financially it just didn’t make sense. It was a Disney company on a Fox network, and it was never going to work out. But we had a fantastic run!”

“Now, we’re getting ready to launch a new show in a brand-new city—I can’t tell you where yet, but it’s going to be fun,” Ryan continued. “And with 9-1-1 moving to ABC and becoming a major hit on Thursday nights, it’s clear there’s an appetite for these types of shows. We’re going to give them another one that I’m really excited about.”
