Hey there! Let’s talk about love, shall we? The kind of love that stands the test of time. Michelle Obama has been by the side of her husband, Barack Obama, for quite some time now. And guess what? She still sees him as the man who makes her heart skip a beat. That’s right, folks! Love doesn’t fade—it evolves.
A New Chapter for the Obamas
Now that their daughters, Malia, 21, and Sasha, 18, have flown the coop, Michelle and Barack have found themselves with a little more time on their hands. It’s like they’re rediscovering each other all over again. “We’re coming back to this point where we see each other anew,” Michelle, 56, revealed. “Now I can look at him and recognize my husband, and let me tell you, he’s still the man I fell head-over-heels in love with.”
Michelle and Barack tied the knot back in 1992, and now, as proud empty nesters, they’re enjoying a different chapter in their lives. “Parenting takes up a lot of emotional space,” Michelle explained. “I put a ton of time and energy into raising these girls, but right now, we’re trying to make their lives as normal as possible. Weekends were a pain because I had to worry about which parties they were going to, whether there was alcohol, and who the parents were. Every weekend was stressful for me. And now? They’re gone, thank goodness!”

Life After the White House
“We now have more emotional time, more emotional energy,” the author of Becoming said, reflecting on her life with the former president, 58. “It’s just me and him, the family dogs Bo and Sunny, and dinner. And guess what? The dogs don’t talk!” The pair recently celebrated 27 years of marriage, and they both made sure to express their love for each other on social media.
“Twenty-seven years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next — while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack,” Michelle wrote on Instagram. And Barack had his own heartfelt words to share.
