The Story Behind Hal’s Name
Jenna gave birth to Hal on August 2, 2019, and soon after, she revealed the thoughtful story behind his name. "I have a new baby boy. We met our little boy on Friday morning, so maternity leave happened at the perfect time," Jenna shared with her Today co-hosts. "His name is Henry Harold, named after Harold, my grandpa, and Henry, of course. We weren’t exactly sure about the name, but then his big sisters arrived and they called him ‘Hal pal,’ and we thought, ‘This is just perfect.’”
And while Jenna joked that her dad, George Bush, might’ve been a bit upset that Hal’s name wasn’t George, she quickly clarified that he was just teasing. "He said [Henry] was a cool name," Jenna added with a laugh.
Big Sisters Can’t Keep Secrets
Jenna’s two daughters, Margaret and Poppy, were thrilled about their new baby brother from the very beginning. In fact, they couldn’t keep the news to themselves. "[The girls] are so happy, I mean to the point where they’re telling strangers," Jenna joked during her pregnancy announcement on Sisters. "They told the man behind me on the airplane, they told the people at church." It’s clear that the excitement in the Hager household was palpable even before Hal arrived.
