Let’s face it, when your mom is Janet Jackson—one of the most legendary singers in Hollywood history—fans naturally wonder if little Eissa might follow in her famous footsteps. Well, during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Janet revealed that her 3-year-old son might just be destined for the world of music. In her own words, it seems Eissa’s passion for melodies and beats is off the charts.
With a warm smile, Janet, who welcomed Eissa in 2018, shared her excitement with host Jimmy Fallon. “Are you kidding me?” she gushed, her voice filled with pride. “He loves music.” And it doesn’t stop there. Janet went on to tell Jimmy about a special gift her son received from Questlove, the charismatic frontman of The Roots, Jimmy’s house band. “Quest, as a matter of fact, gave him a beautiful drum set,” Janet revealed. But that's not all—Eissa already has a harmonica to add to his growing collection of musical instruments. “He loves it. He’s incredibly musical,” Janet added with a beaming smile.

Now, here’s the kicker—Eissa isn’t just dabbling in music. Janet shared with Jimmy how her son has already shown a knack for mastering various instruments. “First, it was the violin—all this he chose,” Janet explained, leaving the audience in awe. Jimmy chimed in, asking incredulously, “At 3?” Janet laughed and clarified, “No, this was at 2.” She went on to describe how Eissa’s love for music evolved over time. “First, he chose the violin. He loves classical music. On the first day of school, he took the violin to school,” she recalled fondly. By the third day of school, Eissa had already moved on to another stringed instrument. “Mama, I want to take a cello to school,” he told Janet. Her response? “Baby, you don’t have a cello.” But Eissa had a solution: “I’ll take one, but turn my violin into a cello please, mama.”

Janet might have been at a loss, but her assistant Terry came to the rescue with some quick thinking. “My assistant Terry—we were rushing for his class, and she took a straw and taped it to the bottom of the violin,” Janet recounted, laughing at the memory. “He loved it. He was posing. He took it to school.” Eissa’s creativity and determination were on full display, showing just how deeply he’s already immersed in the world of music.

A Working Mom’s Perspective
Janet’s insights into Eissa’s musical journey are not only heartwarming but also give us a glimpse into her life as a working mother. In a candid interview with Stellar magazine in August 2019, Janet opened up about her busy schedule and how she juggles her career with motherhood. “It is hard being a working mother. I don’t have a nanny; I do it all myself,” she confessed. While she acknowledges the challenges, Janet emphasizes the bond she shares with her son. “Of course, when I’m working, someone watches him, but it’s my baby and me.”
