When Hoda Kotb adopted her two daughters, Haley Joy in 2017 and Hope Catherine in 2019, her world turned upside down in the best way possible. Life suddenly made so much more sense, and she couldn’t have been happier. During an appearance on the January 29, 2020, episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hoda opened up about the profound joy motherhood has brought into her life.
Life Feels Complete: Hoda’s Joyful Journey as a Mom
Hoda revealed that her life feels like it finally has purpose since becoming a mother. "I feel like my life finally makes sense," she said with a radiant smile. "I used to think it did, but now when I get home from work, usually in the afternoon, Haley, my older one, jumps into my arms like she's flying five feet and nine inches. It’s incredible! That’s what I come home to every day." For Hoda, the love and connection she shares with her daughters are the ultimate rewards after a long day at work.

Love from the Littlest One
Hoda also spoke about the overwhelming love she receives from her youngest daughter, Hope. "And Hope smiles at me," she gushed. "I said to Joel, ‘I’ve worked my whole life, and my work has always been important, but now, all of a sudden, I have clarity.’ It’s such a strange and beautiful feeling." Hoda explained how her career and family life have found harmony in ways she never imagined before.

Hoda continued, “So I was thinking maybe the answer is yes. And plus, when you’re a parent later in life — like watching Haley and Hope together, all I really want is for them to have someone to hold their hand forever. That’s it. That’s all I want.”
Of course, Hoda admitted she’s not entirely sure yet, telling Ellen, “I’m not a hundred percent sure.” But whether or not another child joins the family, Hoda knows she’ll always be greeted with endless love every time she walks through the door.
