A Chef’s Heart: Curtis Stone’s Love for Fatherhood
You know Curtis Stone—the celebrity chef, restaurateur, and all-around culinary genius—but did you know he’s also a devoted dad? Despite his busy schedule, Curtis always finds time to bond with his two sons, Hudson, 8, and Emerson, 5. During an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Curtis opened up about the joys of fatherhood while promoting Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray in New York City on January 16. At 44 years old, Curtis says parenthood has changed his life in the best way possible. “It makes you live a better life, no doubt about it,” he shared. “Being a dad is your most important job—way more important than being a chef or anything else. It’s humbling, and it makes you selfless. You’re not just thinking about yourself anymore.”
Getting Messy in the Kitchen with the Kids
Curtis, who hails from Australia and is married to actress Lindsay Price, isn’t afraid to let his kids get their hands dirty in the kitchen. In fact, he encourages it! When asked about some of the recipes his boys have created, Curtis laughed and said, “I gave them the basics, like a cookie dough or pizza base, and then I let them go wild. They add their own ingredients, and they take so much pride in what they create.” He went on to describe how his sons have invented their own cookie recipe and even tried their hand at pizza and meatloaf. “It’s fascinating to see their creativity in action. There’s always something new happening in our kitchen!”

Teaching Kids Where Food Comes From
Curtis is passionate about teaching his children where their food originates. “Once they understand where food comes from, they’re not afraid of it,” he explained. “If they’re pulling vegetables out of the garden, they know what a squash is. And when they see another plant, they’ll ask, ‘What’s that? Can I eat it?’ That curiosity is so important.” Curtis believes that fostering a connection to food early on helps kids develop healthy eating habits and a lifelong appreciation for cooking.

Encouraging a Love for Food
While Curtis loves sharing his passion for cooking with others, his primary goal is to instill a love of food in his sons. “I want them to enjoy food and cooking, and I want them to find joy in it,” he said. “Balancing family life with being a chef can be tough. You’ve got to be present at your restaurant, but you also need to be home for your kids. It’s a challenge, but it’s worth it. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t become chefs—they’ll have their own paths to follow.”
Making Time for Mom
Even with all the late nights and responsibilities, Curtis makes sure to carve out quality time with Lindsay. “We sneak away from the kids every now and then,” he admitted with a smile. “Her parents are amazing grandparents, so we’re lucky to have them nearby. Our kids adore spending time with their grandparents, which gives us a chance to reconnect. Lindsay makes me laugh so hard—it’s one of the things I love most about her. I guess I just got lucky with a funny woman!”

Trusting Lindsay’s Taste
When it comes to serving his customers, Curtis relies heavily on Lindsay’s opinion. “She’s my go-to critic,” he joked. “If I’m developing new dishes for the restaurant, she’s my first guinea pig. I’ll invite her and a friend to the bar, and I’ll cook for them. Her feedback is invaluable.”
Why Dawn Is a Kitchen Essential
Curtis also shared why Dawn dish soap is a must-have in his kitchen. “It’s incredible how well it works,” he said. “We all
