Let’s talk about family milestones, folks. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos celebrated their youngest child Joaquin's 17th birthday with all the love and excitement you'd expect from proud parents. On February 24, the couple made sure their son knew just how special the day was, sharing heartfelt messages and cherished photos on social media.
A Family Celebration Fit for a Champ
Mark, who turned 48 this year, took to Instagram to share some incredible moments from Joaquin's life. “Happy 17th birthday champ. We love you ♥️♥️♥️♥️!” he wrote alongside a series of photos capturing Joaquin in his wrestling gear. Wrestling is a big part of Joaquin’s life, and it’s clear that his dad is beyond proud of his achievements both in and out of the ring.
Kelly, 49, wasn’t far behind with her own tribute. She posted a delightful slideshow showcasing Joaquin’s journey through the years. Her caption read, “Happy 17th birthday Joaquin!♥️♥️with all my love! This is your life my newborn, or at least what I have stored on my phone 😂😍🎂🎂🎂🎂.” It's moments like these that remind us how much parents treasure every little memory.

A Moment of Scare
Being a parent means dealing with a fair share of heart-stopping moments, and Kelly and Mark had one of those in January. During one of Joaquin's wrestling matches, he took a knee to the nose, which gave his parents quite a scare. Kelly recounted the incident, saying, “I was like, ‘What is going on?’ I tried to zoom in on my cell phone, but I couldn’t really see much. Then they started rubbing him, and we were like, ‘What? Why are they rubbing him?’ We didn’t realize at first that he was bleeding and they were wiping the blood off.”
Kelly attended the event with her husband, and initially, she didn’t think the injury was too serious. “From our point of view, it looked like he got poked in the eye,” she joked. “I was like, ‘I get it, that hurts, sometimes your eye won’t open.’ But we were like, ‘OK, Joaquin. For heaven’s sake, pull yourself together.’ And I was saying, ‘See? He’s an actor.’ Because he was [covering his face]. It was very dramatic!”

Back in the Game
Thankfully, after receiving treatment, Joaquin was cleared to return to the mat. By the end of the event, he managed to secure a big win for his team. Kelly took to Instagram to share a photo of her son, writing, “You win some, you lose some and sometimes you get a tampon shoved up your nose.” Her humor in the face of adversity is truly something to admire.
