Let’s talk about Kate Middleton for a moment. The Duchess of Cambridge has an incredibly busy schedule, and despite her royal responsibilities, she’s just like any other mom out there. She’s dealing with what so many of us know as "mom guilt." It’s something that hits home for millions of parents around the world, and Kate isn’t immune to it. In fact, she recently opened up about it in a heartfelt conversation.
Mom Guilt: Kate Talks Honestly About the Struggle
In a candid moment on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, “Happy Mum, Happy Baby,” Kate opened up about the constant battle moms face between their careers and family life. At 38 years old, she’s raising three beautiful kids with Prince William—Prince George, 6; Princess Charlotte, 4; and Prince Louis, 1. So yeah, she knows a thing or two about juggling it all.
“Yes, absolutely — and anyone who doesn’t feel this way as a mother is actually lying!” Kate laughed during the podcast. “Yep — all the time.” That honesty? It’s gold. Kate isn’t just some untouchable royal; she’s a real person who gets the struggle of trying to be everything to everyone while still prioritizing her family.

Even Royalty Feels the Pressure
Kate shared a relatable moment from her morning routine. “You know, even this morning, coming to the nursery visit here, George and Charlotte were like, ‘Mummy, how could you possibly not be dropping us off at school this morning?’” she revealed. This isn’t just a problem for working moms either. Kate pointed out that even stay-at-home moms deal with this guilt because there’s always something to feel bad about.
“It’s a constant challenge — you hear it time and time again from moms, even moms who aren’t necessarily working and aren’t pulled in the directions of having to juggle work life and family life,” she explained. The Duchess understands that every parent deals with these feelings, whether they’re balancing careers or simply trying to keep up with the demands of everyday life.

“There’s always something to feel guilty over,” the podcast host added, and Kate couldn’t agree more. “Exactly. And always sort of questioning your own decisions and your own judgments and things like that, and I think that starts from the moment you have a baby!” she exclaimed. The Duchess is proof that even royalty isn’t immune to the emotional rollercoaster of parenthood.
Family Bonding: Bringing the Kids Into the Spotlight
Despite their packed schedules, Kate and Prince William are making a conscious effort to include their kids in their public appearances. An insider told Closer Weekly, “William and Kate will be making more appearances with the kids this year—especially the eldest two.” They aren’t planning to use their children as props but see value in letting them join certain events during school holidays, particularly those tied to meaningful charities.
The couple also plans to take a step back from their royal duties soon to focus on family time. And guess what? Queen Elizabeth fully supports their decision. Yes, even the Queen knows the importance of putting family first.
