Jennifer Garner's Parents Aren't Taking Coronavirus Seriously — Here's What She's Doing

All About Jennifer Garner's Parents, William and Patricia Garner

There's no stopping Jennifer Garner's parents when they set their minds. In an appearance on a Thursday, March 19, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: At Home Edition, the actress shared how her folks, William and Patricia Garner, aren't exactly adhering to the safety guidelines during the coronavirus outbreak.

Garner's Parents: "Stay Home" Just Isn't Happening

Jen, known for her humor and candor, joked with Jimmy Fallon, 45, about the challenge of keeping her parents safe. "The hardest group to manage right now? Teens, early 20s, and let's be honest—my parents," she quipped. "I’m like, 'Dad, Mom, the entire world is shutting down to protect you!' And they’re like, 'We're planning a trip to Sam's Warehouse.' It's frustrating, but I keep reminding them—stay home, it's crucial!"

Garner's Kids: Practicing Social Distancing, Learning Life Skills

While dealing with her parents is challenging, Jennifer mentioned that her children—Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck—are adapting well to the situation. "Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better timing with my kids' ages," she said with a laugh. "They’re old enough to understand what’s going on and have meaningful conversations. We’ve even started learning practical skills like using a vacuum cleaner. But they’re not so grown-up that they’re just disregarding the rules entirely. It's a delicate balance!"

In a heartfelt Instagram post from Monday, March 16, Amy detailed their initiative, SAVEWITHSTORIES, which aims to support children affected by the outbreak. "We’re bringing the community together to support Save the Children and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry," Amy explained. "Our goal is to ensure that families know where to find meals, support mobile meal trucks, food banks, and community feeding programs." It's a commendable effort that highlights the importance of coming together during tough times.

I’ve decided to finally join to shine a spotlight on kids across the country who need our help and support during this difficult time. My friend @jennifer.garner and I are launching @SAVEWITHSTORIES – a spot to watch your favorite celebrities read your favorite children’s books. We are galvanizing as a community to support a new fund for a combined effort between SAVE THE CHILDREN and Share Our Strength’s NO KID HUNGRY (and a big thank you to our founding publisher, Scholastic♥️). ⁣ ⁣ THIRTY MILLION CHILDREN in the United States rely on school for food. School closures will hit vulnerable communities hard and @savethechildren and @nokidhungry are on the ground and ready to serve. They just need our help! ⁣ ⁣ These funds will help us make sure that families know how to find meals when schools are closed, support mobile meal trucks, food banks and other community feeding programs, provide educational toys, books and worksheets, and support out-of-school-time programs to help kids make up for lost time in the classroom. ⁣ ⁣ If you can manage a one time gift of $10, please text SAVE to 20222. If another amount would work better for you, please visit our website—link in bio. There is no maximum and there is no minimum—together we will rise and together we can help. #SAVEWITHSTORIES
