Let’s talk about one of Hollywood’s most beloved duos: Courteney Cox and her daughter Coco Arquette. Fans can’t seem to get enough of their heartwarming musical collaborations on Instagram. But guess what? The Friends star has a little confession about why she shares these videos. Spoiler alert: It’s not just to showcase Coco’s incredible singing voice.

Courteney Cox Opens Up About Using Coco for Instagram Fame

During a virtual appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Courteney Cox hilariously admitted that her teenage daughter, Coco, isn’t too thrilled about being featured in her mom’s social media posts. “Well, she gets mad at me because she thinks I’m using her for posts,” the 55-year-old actress joked. “And honestly? She’s not wrong!”

When you have a teenager you barely get to see them. So much negotiating. Coco traded me one song if I let her go to a party. I took it.

Ellen DeGeneres Shines the Spotlight on Coco’s Talent

Ellen DeGeneres, the queen of all things entertaining, brought up Coco’s “beautiful” singing voice during the show. With the world in quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic, Courteney took to social media to share clips of her and Coco making music together. These heartwarming videos feature the talented teenager singing along while her proud mom plays the piano.

“You run out of material though,” Courteney playfully admitted, explaining how she convinces Coco to join her for a video when she’s fresh out of ideas for social media content. “So every now and then, I bribe her for a song.” It’s a strategy that works—just don’t tell Coco!

Coco’s Stellar Performance in an Instagram Post

Back in early March, Courteney Cox, best known for her role in Cougar Town, showcased her daughter’s extraordinary skills in a delightful Instagram post. Sitting around a piano in their home, the brunette beauty belted out “Anyone” by Demi Lovato, leaving fans in awe of her vocal prowess.

In the caption, Courteney joked about the negotiations involved in parenting a teenager. “When you have a teenager, you barely get to see them. So much negotiating,” she wrote. “Coco traded me one song if I let her go to a party. I took it.” Classic parenting move, right?

While Coco may not always be on board with her mom’s antics, Courteney has been keeping herself entertained by dancing in fun TikToks. In mid-March, the Golden Globe nominee uploaded a hilarious video of herself performing a silly routine, proving that she knows how to have fun, even during quarantine.

    Quarantine Life: Missing Loved Ones

Although Courteney seems to be having a blast with her social media escapades, she admitted to Ellen that her daughter doesn’t always share the same enthusiasm. “I’m embarrassing! I’m literally doing TikToks!” she quipped. “That’s what we fight about! Coco’s like, ‘OMG!’”

Despite all the fun, Courteney confessed that she’s feeling a little lonely in quarantine. While chatting with Ellen, she revealed that she misses her longtime boyfriend, Johnny McDaid, more than ever. “I have not seen him in so long. You don’t realize,” she said, explaining that they’ve been spending “a lot of time on FaceTime” because the Snow Patrol singer, 43, got stuck in Europe for work. “Now it’s like oh my God, I just miss his physical touch. It’s been hard. This is the longest time.”

Hang in there, Courteney! We’re all rooting for you!
