Even though Kathie Lee Gifford's two kids, Cassidy Gifford and Cody Gifford, tied the knot with their longtime loves during the coronavirus pandemic, the former Today star says the weddings were "more beautiful than ever." The proud mom gave fans a glimpse into her beloved daughter and son’s special days.

Listen, I’ve got to tell you, these weren’t the weddings Cassidy and Cody had dreamed of. But, hey, life throws curveballs, right? "Neither one of them had the weddings they had planned for because COVID made it impossible," the 67-year-old told Entertainment Tonight, adding that even with the smaller gatherings, they "ended up being precious." You know what? Sometimes, less really is more.

Scaling Back for the Big Day

Now, Cassidy, 27, and Cody, 30, had originally planned for "typical big weddings," right? But, thanks to the pandemic, they had to scale back their guest lists to comply with social distancing rules. "This just got it down to the nitty gritty — who is the closest family," Kathie Lee explained. Imagine planning the wedding of your dreams, and then suddenly, you're forced to rethink everything. That's tough, but it sounds like they handled it with grace.

As for Cody, he walked down the aisle with Erika Brown over Labor Day weekend in Connecticut. Can you picture it? Family and friends gathered, smiles all around, and love in the air. These weddings might have been small, but they were filled with heart.

The Role of a Proud Mom

Here's the thing: Even though she’s the mother of the bride and groom, Kathie Lee joked that she "didn’t have to plan" Cassidy and Cody’s weddings. "I just had to show up," she quipped. "I was sort of obligated." Can you blame her? Sometimes, showing up is the best thing you can do. And honestly, I bet she was the star of those weddings anyway.

Now that both of her kids are officially off the market, the former Kathie Lee and Hoda host — who shares her children with her late husband Frank Gifford — said she couldn't be happier that they’re married to "two people that [she] just [adores]." Imagine how proud she must be. It's like seeing your kids find their soulmates and knowing they're in great hands.

    A Legacy of Love

"[Ben and Erika] are just beautiful human beings, and to see your children happy like that — I know Frank’s smiling each day," the loving mama sweetly continued. "We just sensed their dad just smiling." That’s the kind of love and connection that transcends even the toughest times. It’s powerful stuff.
