Emmy nominations 2020: the complete list of nominees - CNN

Hey there, Emmy fans! The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived: the 2020 Emmy nominations are officially here. This year, some of our favorite actors have made the cut, including the legendary Jennifer Aniston, the always-charming Jason Bateman, and the hilarious Steve Carell. The big night is set for September 20, airing live from Los Angeles, and will be hosted by none other than the one and only Jimmy Kimmel.

Now, you might be wondering how exactly this is going to work during a global pandemic. Well, Jimmy himself joked about it in a statement back on June 16, saying, "I don’t know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this—but we are doing it, and I am hosting it." With the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19, most awards shows this year have gone virtual, but the Emmys are planning something a little different. According to ABC entertainment president Karey Burke, the team is cooking up multiple plans, including both in-person and virtual options. “The producers and Jimmy have been hard at work on what those might look like,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I have total confidence in whatever shape it takes, it’s going to be wildly entertaining.”

As we wait with bated breath to see how it all unfolds, fans can already start perusing the list of nominations to see which shows might just walk away with the coveted Outstanding Comedy Series award. This year, Jen, Olivia Colman, Sandra Oh, and three other incredible actresses are up for Best Actress in a Drama Series. While it's anyone's game, Sandra Oh already took home a Golden Globe for her knockout performance in Killing Eve. During a past interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, Sandra opened up about the role that changed her career. “Killing Eve was the right series at the right time for me,” she gushed. “I really love the show, I like the style of it, I like the thriller aspect. I also like being able to play a character who is able to express not only a rainbow of emotions, but also a lot of depth.”
