In 2024, Gisele announced that she and Joaquim were expecting their first child together. Fast forward to the winter of 2025, and Gisele welcomed her third child, adding yet another chapter to her family story.

Meet Benjamin Brady: Gisele's Firstborn

Benjamin Rein Brady was born on December 8, 2009, less than ten months after Gisele and Tom’s intimate wedding ceremony in Santa Monica, California. Gisele opted for a home birth, choosing to welcome Benjamin in the bathtub of their Boston home. This decision reflected her desire for a more natural and intimate birthing experience, away from the usual hospital setting.

When it came to naming Benjamin, Gisele had her heart set on something unique. “I wanted him to be called River because I wanted something always flowing, immortal,” she revealed in an interview with British Vogue. But Tom, being the practical dad he is, wasn’t on board. “My husband said, ‘There’s no way we’re going to call him River.’ But my father’s name is Reinoldo, so it’s a homage to him. And it’s like water,” she explained.

Becoming a mother for the first time changed Gisele in ways she didn’t expect. In her 2018 memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, she opened up about the guilt she felt for leaving Benjamin, even for a day. “I thought what a terrible mother I was for leaving my child,” she confessed.
