David Ridley made history as the first single man to have his home fully renovated on an episode of Fixer Upper. He chose a stunning lakefront ranch house, hoping to turn it into the ultimate bachelor pad. After his big screen debut on the HGTV sensation, the sports enthusiast opened up about his newfound fame in Waco.
“Joanna kept warning me that I needed to be ready for the attention,” David shared with Country Living in September 2016. “Girls and strangers were reaching out left and right. I handed over my social media accounts to my best friends so I could avoid the chaos for a bit. Trust me, it gets overwhelming when you're suddenly bombarded with messages from all directions.”

Despite the whirlwind of attention, David remained focused on finding his true love. “I absolutely want to get married and share life with my best friend,” he revealed. “At the time, I was dating someone, and although it was fun, I wasn’t sure where it was headed.”
Fast forward to February 2017, and David found himself head over heels for Rachel, a teacher from Alabama. The two met through a mutual friend and quickly hit it off. “I never believed in the whole 'when you know, you know' thing until I met Rachel,” David confessed to KWTX. “With her, it was instant chemistry.”
The couple tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony on July 1, 2017, in Birmingham, Alabama. It was love at first sight—and now, they’ve built a beautiful life together.

The Ridleys’ family expanded in a big way when they welcomed their first child, Ayla Rose, on November 1, 2019. David couldn’t contain his excitement about becoming a dad. “Let me tell you, my priorities shifted the moment Ayla came into the world,” he gushed on Instagram, sharing adorable photos of his newborn. “All I want to do is spend time with her, love her, hold her, and watch her sleep. She’s my entire world!”
Just two years later, the couple announced the arrival of their second daughter, Georgia Marie, on November 7, 2021. David shared a heartwarming photo of their growing family, captioning it, “We are so grateful and thankful for the gift of another beautiful girl. Life just keeps getting better.”
