Hey there, friends. If you're a fan of HGTV, you probably know Mina Starsiak Hawk from the hit show "Good Bones." Well, Mina recently shared some surprising stories about her experiences with fans during a podcast episode on October 31. While she loves connecting with her fans, not all encounters have been pleasant. Let's dive into what she had to say.
A Frightening Experience That Left Mina On Edge
During the "Mina AF" podcast, Mina recounted a truly unsettling experience that spanned two seasons of her show. She explained, “There was a time when I had to report something to the network because I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. Every time the show would start airing, I’d get texts from the same number. These weren’t just any messages—they were explicit videos and voicemails. It was really disturbing, and I had no idea what to do.”
Mina went on to describe how these messages made her feel uneasy, unsure if it was a prank or something more sinister. The whole ordeal left her feeling vulnerable and worried for her safety. It’s not every day that a fan takes things to this level, but it’s a reminder that celebrities often have to navigate these kinds of situations.

Tracking Down the Source
Thankfully, Mina was able to trace the number back to another state and block it. Reflecting on the experience, she joked, “It was probably just some guy sitting in his grandma’s basement being a weirdo. You know, sometimes people just want to stir the pot.”
While it’s easy to brush off such incidents as random acts, they can be quite unsettling for those on the receiving end. Mina handled it with grace and humor, but it’s a reality that many public figures face.
Fashion Videos Lead to Unexpected Messages
On top of the creepy messages, Mina also shared that posting fashion videos on Instagram sometimes leads to bizarre comments. “It’s like getting catcalled on the street,” she said, “but online. People can be so bold behind a screen.”
Mina isn’t one to shy away from sharing her personal life with her fans, but even she admits that some messages cross the line. She uses these experiences as a way to connect with her audience and remind them that she’s just like anyone else—someone who appreciates kindness and respect.
Mina's Humorous Take on OnlyFans
In a lighter moment during the podcast, Mina teased the idea of joining OnlyFans, a subscription-based content service. “I do know a lot of people make a very good living on OnlyFans,” she said with a laugh. “So, depending on how everything shakes out in the next year, y’all might find me on there with some weird feet stuff on a construction site.”
Of course, she quickly clarified, “I don’t know if my husband will support that. He’s super supportive, but that might be crossing the line.” Her humor and self-awareness make her relatable and endearing to her fans.

Big Changes Ahead for Mina's Business
Since the conclusion of "Good Bones," Mina has been focusing on new ventures and making some significant changes to her business. One major decision? Closing down her Two Chicks District Co. retail store by the end of the year. In addition, she’s listed her Two Chicks and a Hammer headquarters for sale after deciding to downsize her team.
“With fewer people on the team, the space just wasn’t being utilized properly,” Mina explained during a podcast episode on October 17. “It’s a space that I have a mortgage on for a couple hundred thousand dollars, so there’s a mortgage payment involved. It just didn’t make sense to keep it anymore.”
Mina’s approach to business reflects her practical and forward-thinking mindset. She’s always looking for ways to streamline operations and ensure her resources are being used effectively.
