Let’s talk about John Stamos. You know him from Full House, and now he’s spilling some serious tea in his upcoming memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. In it, the beloved actor dives deep into one of the darkest moments of his life—a shocking betrayal by his ex-girlfriend, Teri Copley, who he claims cheated on him with none other than Tony Danza back in the '80s. It’s the kind of story that grabs you by the heartstrings and doesn’t let go.

In the memoir, John, now 60, reflects on how much he adored Teri. He wasn’t just smitten; he was head over heels. “She’s everything I’m looking for in a woman,” John writes. “She has an adorable daughter, Ashley, from a previous relationship, and I absolutely love the idea of being a stepfather. I could picture us building a life together—a little family of our own. I was so deeply in love that I couldn’t imagine a future without her. Why not take a chance?”

A Moment That Changed Everything

Life had been moving along smoothly for John and Teri—until it all came crashing down. After not hearing from her for a while, John decided to swing by her place. But when he arrived, things weren’t exactly what he expected. No one answered the door, so he went around to the guesthouse. That’s where the nightmare began.

“The blinds were closed, but the door was slightly ajar,” John recounts. “I peeked inside and saw two sets of feet sticking out from under this floral-print duvet. My stomach dropped. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It felt like a punch to the gut.”

The Pain of Discovery

At first, John couldn’t make out who the other person was. But the pain of witnessing Teri with someone else was overwhelming. “It was physically painful,” he admits. “I remember standing there, tears streaming down my face. In that moment, I realized how much I had invested in this relationship, and it all came crashing down around me.”

Looking back, John acknowledges that maybe Teri wasn’t the right person for him. “You know, seeing him there, realizing it was him—it was devastating. It wasn’t just the betrayal; it was the realization that I might have been wrong about her all along.”

Clues Left Behind

But here’s the kicker: John eventually discovered the identity of the man in bed with Teri. How? A signed poster in a vintage 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster parked outside her house. “I stared at the poster, half-dressed women on it, signed with little hearts,” John recalls. “It read, ‘My Dear Tony, I’ll love you forever. XO, Teri.’ That’s when the pieces fell into place.”

Teri, now 62, has spoken out about the incident, claiming that she and John were no longer together at the time. “I remember thinking, ‘What’s John doing here?’ because we had already broken up,” Teri told People in an interview published on October 23. “He just looked at me, shook his head, and walked away.”

A Silver Lining

Despite the heartbreak, John credits Tony Danza and his show, Who’s the Boss?, for helping launch Full House into superstardom. “If you would have told me the day I walked into that room and caught my true love in bed with another guy that his show Who’s the Boss? would help propel Full House to become a massive hit, making me a household name,” John writes. “Well, what can I say? Thanks, Tony Danza.”
