It feels like going back to the roots of where I started—it’s been so joyful and fun!”

Family Bonds and New Memories: The Heart of the Lake House

While Mina’s relationships with her mom, Karen E. Laine, and her brother Tad Starsiak have been strained following the series finale of Good Bones on October 17, the home designer remains hopeful that the lake house will become a place of connection for her family. “This house isn’t just for me and Steve,” Mina explained. “It’s for my kids, Jack and Charlotte, and for the extended family I’m close to. We’re going to make some incredible memories here.”

Even though Mina finds herself in a “tricky spot” with Karen, 61, and Tad, 30, she’s grateful to still have MJ Coyle by her side. MJ, a key figure from Good Bones, has been an invaluable part of the lake house renovation. “I’m filming the lake house project, and MJ pops in from time to time,” Mina revealed. “He helps us with the demo work, and I’m always experimenting to see what sticks. If this new show takes off, MJ would definitely be someone I’d want on board. He’s been such a great partner in this whole journey.”
