Let’s face it—Ryan Seacrest has been on everyone's radar for a while now, but lately, his American Idol family is really leaning in with some advice. Insiders close to the show tell Closer that Ryan's colleagues are nudging him to take the next big step with his girlfriend, Aubrey Paige Petcosky. They’re not just talking about a quiet dinner or a weekend getaway; they’re talking about something much bigger.
“They want Ryan and Aubrey to start a family,” a source close to the situation reveals. “Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan have been sharing their fatherhood experiences with Ryan, telling him how amazing it is. And during a live American Idol episode, Katy Perry actually shouted at him, ‘Yes, it’s time!’”
Settling Down at 49: Ryan's Ready for the Next Chapter
At 49 years old, Ryan is ready to settle down, and Aubrey, 26, seems to be the one he wants to do it with. The two have been linked since the summer of 2021, and Ryan’s mom, Connie Seacrest, has been vocal about her support for the couple.

“Connie knows that Ryan’s nervous about proposing, but she’s worried he’s let too many great relationships slip away. Aubrey is a wonderful girl, and Connie can tell she’d make a great mom,” a source explained to Closer earlier this year. “While Connie can help plan the perfect proposal, there’s not much she can do about grandchildren—other than hope for one!”
A Look Back at Ryan’s Love Life
Ryan has never been married, but he’s had his share of high-profile relationships. In fact, he admitted once that he came close to proposing to someone in the past. “I didn’t do it, and it was the right move,” Ryan shared during a chat with Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly and Ryan back in 2017. “But I love the idea of marriage because my parents have been married for 47 years, and so I have this ideal—just like Kelly, who’s been married for 21 years.”
Before Aubrey, Ryan had a long relationship with Shayna Taylor, which lasted on and off for eight years until they finally parted ways in 2020. But those close to Ryan believe that things are different with Aubrey, and they truly hope this one lasts.
“At some point in the not-so-distant future, Ryan wants to settle down and start a family,” an insider told Us Weekly in 2022. “He wouldn’t be dating anyone who didn’t have that long-term potential.”
In February, Ryan made a big move by posting photos with Aubrey on his Instagram account for the first time, showing just how serious he is about her. “Happy #ValentinesDay @aubreypaige_, can’t wait to eat that cookie dough with you but first, @disneyparks churros,” he captioned the post, featuring photos of them at Disney World.
Aubrey also celebrated the day by sharing a sweet tribute to Ryan on her own Instagram account. “Happy Valentines LOVERS,” she captioned a picture with her partner.
