As fate would have it, Ben, who was a youth minister and a campus leader, left an unforgettable impression on Erin. In her words, he was like a "celebrity crush." She admired his kindness and how he made everyone around him feel special. “He was the president of every club and very popular but not exclusive,” Erin gushed to People in April 2020. “I would see someone eating alone in the cafeteria, and there was Ben, pulling up a chair beside them.”

It didn’t take long for these two to realize they were meant for each other. Erin wrote in a December 2010 blog post about the moment Ben declared his love for her, just six days after they started dating. “It shook me to my core to hear him say that. After only six days, and knowing he’d never said that to anyone before me — I was overjoyed,” she wrote. “I didn’t doubt his sincerity, and nothing about it seemed unreasonable. I was more certain of it than many things in my life.”

Ben also fondly remembers the moment he realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Erin. “We were sitting in her car, in her Beetle that we still have, and we were eating cheese sticks and it felt different,” Ben said in an interview with USA Today in December 2023. “It just felt like, ‘OK, this is important.’ Then on Dec. 13 … I told her that I was in love with her, and I wanted to marry her.”

Yes, folks, Erin and Ben Napier are still very much in love and tackling life’s challenges together. This design duo is as happy as ever, continuing their journey of renovating homes across Mississippi. Ben even got his own spinoff, Home Town: Ben’s Workshop, in 2021. Another spinoff, Home Town Takeover, aired the same year, and in April 2022, they expanded their empire with a fourth show, Home Town Kickstart. This series featured HGTV stars leading home design projects across the U.S. with guidance from Erin and Ben.

Ben shared his excitement about this new venture with HGTV. “Erin and I have renovated more than 80 homes in Laurel for Home Town and we’ve seen how these improvements change a community for the better,” he said. “Now, with help from HGTV, we’re going to continue what we started and help more small towns across the country.”

In November 2021, Erin and Ben celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary, and their love story continues to grow stronger. And somehow, we managed to find each other,” she penned. “Thank you, Lord, for 15 years in a marriage that feels like home and comfort and assurance and strength and LOVE.”

Erin and Ben dreamed of starting a family together after they tied the knot. However, Erin faced some serious health challenges after suffering from intense stomach pains for a decade. She was eventually diagnosed with a perforated appendix and underwent several surgeries. At the time, she feared her dream of having children might slip away. “I was very sad. And not knowing is always the biggest hurdle for me to overcome,” Erin shared in an October 2018 interview with People. “I like to have proof. And we had no proof that I would be able to have kids.”

But miracles do happen. On Mother’s Day in 2017, Erin discovered she was pregnant with their first child. Their eldest daughter, Helen, was born in January 2018, and their youngest, Mae, came into the world in May 2021.
