Tad Starsiak Spills The Truth About Landing His Own HGTV Show

Get to Know the Eternally Optimistic Side of 'Good Bones' Renovator

Tad Starsiak, the beloved general contractor from HGTV's "Good Bones," left a lasting impression on viewers, sparking a wave of support for his own spinoff show. Fans have been eagerly asking whether the dream of seeing Tad front and center on HGTV will ever come true. Recently, the 30-year-old construction expert opened up about the possibility, revealing the behind-the-scenes details in his own words.

It all started when a fan reached out to Tad on Instagram back in February, posing the burning question everyone wanted to know: “Are you going to have your own show on HGTV? Would definitely watch!” The comment sparked a candid and heartfelt response from the TV personality, who currently runs his own construction company.

Responding to the fan's inquiry, Tad shared an honest and personal update. “They had asked me to continue in the TV world, but we couldn’t come to terms,” he explained. “I do feel much happier being away from it, really. But if I ever had another opportunity, I’d love to do a show called Constructing Happiness.”

For now, it seems that Tad's television journey has taken a pause. The real estate expert and the rest of the "Good Bones" cast made their final appearance during the emotional Season 8 finale, aptly titled “Tad’s Next Chapter.” The episode chronicled his Indiana home renovation and his engagement to Anna Spiars, marking a significant turning point in his personal and professional life.

While the show wrapped up, it wasn't without its share of drama. Behind the scenes, tensions bubbled among the cast members. Yet, Tad remains grateful for the opportunity that his sister, Mina Starsiak Hawk, and her mom, Karen E. Laine, provided him. Mina has already confirmed her own lake house spinoff, while Karen has been busy filming her new Wilmington, North Carolina, home renovation for an upcoming project.

A Heartfelt Farewell to "Good Bones"

After the "Good Bones" finale aired, Tad took to Instagram to express his gratitude. “To all the fans, I feel like you all watched me grow up, and there’s something really special about that,” he wrote. “To all those people who helped build me up and taught me what I know—Lenny, Terry, Brad, Cory, Mina, Adam, Zack, and so many others—thank you. And most importantly, thank you to Mina and Karen. None of this would have been possible for any of us without you two.”

“I do know my family, friends, and I got the opportunity to do what so many dream of doing,” he added. “I know we got to shine a spotlight on my favorite place, Indy, and in some ways, put it on the map for some. I know we made a lot of people happy and excited to tune into a new episode of 'Good Bones' every Tuesday, maybe giving them a little carefree entertainment from the craziness of everyday life.”
