It’s incredible how much they’ve grown. I was thinking about the very first time we brought them home and carried them up those stairs in their car seats and placed them in their little cribs. It’s like you want to hold onto those memories, but you also have to let go.”
New Beginnings in the Suburbs
Hoda pointed out that moving to the suburbs has brought about some noticeable changes, especially during the school drop-off routine. “In our new neighborhood, there are so many kids walking behind us to school in the morning. It’s a different vibe altogether,” she noted. Hoda feels strongly about the benefits of this change. “We’ve had seven amazing years in the city with the kids, but I also believe they need to experience nature, feel the grass and dirt under their feet,” she shared thoughtfully.

Haley and Hope, who she shares with her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, are beyond thrilled about having their own rooms in the new place. “They’re super excited about having their own space, complete with reading chairs, bean bags, and their own beds,” Hoda said. She added with a smile, “It’s all about creating a warm, cozy home where they feel comfortable and loved.”
This fresh start is full of promise for Hoda and her daughters. “I feel like I’m in a repotting phase of my life,” she revealed on her “Making Space” podcast. “I just feel it. I feel like my roots need a bigger pot, in all aspects of my life. Moving with my kids was a big step for us, but it feels right.”
