Sam Neill, now 76, recently shared this story on Today, painting a vivid picture of that evening. "It was an incredible occasion," Sam reminisced. "I mean, you don’t get to sit beside Princess Diana every day. It was a real honor, but little did I know what was about to unfold."
Now, here’s where things take a turn. On one side of Sam was Princess Diana, and on the other, his young son. As the movie reached its thrilling midpoint, excitement in the theater was palpable. But for Sam, it wasn’t just the dinosaurs causing a stir. "My son, who was about 10 years old at the time, got completely caught up in the action," he explained. "And then, well, let’s just say he started releasing some unexpected noises."

What Happened in the Theater?
As Today cohosts Sheinelle Jones, Laura Jarrett, and Dylan Dreyer tried to contain their laughter, they couldn’t help but ask just how awkward the situation was. "The farts weren’t exactly loud," Sam admitted, "but they were potent. And there was a draft in the theater, which meant the scent was wafting right toward Princess Diana. I was sweating bullets in my suit and bowtie, thinking, 'Oh no, she’s going to think it’s me!'"

Dylan Dreyer, 42, had to know if Sam ever admitted the truth to Princess Diana. "No way," Sam chuckled. "I couldn’t bring myself to do it. My son absolutely hates me telling this story, but it’s too good not to share. He’s grown now, one of my four kids, but I can tell you one thing—I’m never going to another premiere with him!"
Sam also revealed that the last time he watched Jurassic Park was that very night at the premiere. He hasn’t seen any of the films since.
