They’ve taught me so much about staying curious and engaged with the world around me.”

“For years, I thought, ‘None of them want to be actors? Wow, I did it all by myself!’” Geena joked to the outlet. “But guess what? Now, two of them are interested in acting. I was like, ‘Ah!’ But honestly, I couldn’t be prouder. As long as they’re not child actors, I’m totally okay with it.”
Raising a Family Later in Life
Geena has always been open about the challenges and joys of raising a family later in life. The Tootsie star welcomed her twin sons when she was 48 years old, and she’s been candid about how overwhelming it was to have three kids under the age of three at one point.
“My daughter was just two when the twins were born,” Geena shared with Good Housekeeping back in 2006. “At the time, I was a little nervous because part of me wondered, ‘Will I be able to love my boys as much as I love my little girl?’ But let me tell you, that worry was completely unfounded. I do love them all equally, and being a mom has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Sure, it was overwhelming at times, but it’s been absolutely wonderful.”

Geena has always prioritized creating a nurturing environment for her children, one where they feel safe expressing themselves. “I make it a point to let my kids know that it’s perfectly okay to express their feelings,” she explained. “I don’t try to dictate how they should feel. While Geena was sharing insights into her family life at CinemaCon 2024, she also touched on her career. Fans might be surprised to learn that the Academy Award-winning actress won’t be appearing in the upcoming 2024 Beetlejuice sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
“No, I’m not in the remake,” Geena revealed to Entertainment Tonight on April 11. “You might have thought I’d be part of it, but here’s the thing—my theory is that ghosts don’t age. And neither do I!”
