It’s official—The Talk is coming to an end after 15 incredible seasons. And who better to weigh in than former panelist Carrie Ann Inaba? Speaking candidly about the show's conclusion, Carrie Ann, 56, opened up about her feelings, revealing she’s “sad” to see it go but deeply appreciative of what it brought to her life and career.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on May 14, while attending the Disney/ABC Upfront event, Carrie Ann reminisced about the essence of The Talk. “It’s been there forever, you know, and I think the legacy of The Talk will always be that it was a place where you could sit down with your friends and hear different points of view," she said with a smile. "It wasn’t just about opinions—it was about connection, understanding, and sharing experiences. That’s what made it special.”
Gratitude and Heartbreak: Carrie Ann’s Farewell
As someone who has spent years inspiring audiences with her work on Dancing With the Stars, Carrie Ann carries a unique perspective on talk shows. She added, “I always thought that was the essence of The Talk, and I was always so grateful for my time there. I’m sad it’s going, but I know the show leaves behind a legacy that will inspire people for years to come.”

After CBS announced on April 12 that The Talk had been canceled and would conclude with a shortened 14th season ending in December 2024, Carrie Ann said she reached out to many of her colleagues to express her emotions. “I called a lot of people because I wanted them to know how much this meant to me,” she admitted. “They were sad too, but they reminded me that we had such a great run. We shared so much laughter, joy, and even tough conversations, and that’s something no one can take away.”
From Honolulu to Hollywood: Carrie Ann’s Journey with The Talk
For Carrie Ann, joining The Talk in 2019 was more than just a career move—it was a homecoming of sorts. After stepping in following the departure of original host Julie Chen Moonves, she quickly became an integral part of the panel, bringing her signature charm and wit to the table. However, in April 2021, the choreographer-turned-TV personality announced she needed a break to focus on her health.
In a heartfelt Instagram post at the time, Carrie Ann wrote, “Hi everyone, I’ve decided to take a leave of absence from @thetalkcbs to focus on my well-being. Health is the most precious gift we have, and I need to take care of mine. I appreciate the love and support from all of you and from my family at The Talk. I hope to be back soon! Ready for action! Sending you all my love, and I’ll update you on my progress.”
Despite her absence, Carrie Ann remained connected to the show, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to grow alongside the entire Talk family. In August 2021, she released a statement saying, “I enjoyed my time at The Talk as cohost and moderator, and I’m grateful for the chance to connect with viewers on such a personal level.”

In an emotional Instagram video, Carrie Ann thanked her cohosts and the behind-the-scenes team. “I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart—not only to my wonderful cohosts, past and present, but also to those behind the scenes who I love so deeply,” she said, her voice filled with sincerity.
Meanwhile, CBS introduced Jerry O’Connell to the panel for season 12, alongside Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, and Elaine Welteroth. Although Elaine left after one season, she was replaced by Akbar Gbajabiamila and Natalie Morales, ensuring the show continued its vibrant energy.
