Let's dive into the world of Brooke Mueller, who shares two amazing twin boys, Max and Bob Sheen, with her ex-husband, the iconic Charlie Sheen. Over the years, this former couple has been in the spotlight for their high-profile custody battles and their eventual divorce. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for them, and the story of their family has captivated fans around the world.
A Look Back at Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen’s Family Life
It all began when Brooke and Charlie tied the knot in 2008. Just a year later, they welcomed their adorable twin boys, Max and Bob, on March 14, 2009. Now, Charlie Sheen, best known for his role in Two and a Half Men, is also a proud dad to Sami and Lola Sheen with his ex-wife Denise Richards, and a daughter, Cassandra Estevez, with his high school sweetheart, Paula Profit. As you can see, Charlie has quite the blended family.
But things took a turn in November 2010 when Charlie filed for divorce, nearly a year after their highly-publicized Christmas morning altercation in Aspen, Colorado. By May 2011, Us Weekly confirmed that Brooke and Charlie had reached a custody agreement. As part of their prenuptial agreement, Charlie paid Brooke a lump sum of $750,000 and an impressive $55,000 per month in child support. Brooke was granted primary physical custody of the twins, which meant the boys would spend most of their time with her.

Charlie Sheen’s Battle to Modify Child Support Payments
In May 2013, the Los Angeles Child and Family Services stepped in and removed Max and Bob from Brooke’s home because of concerns about an "unsafe environment." The boys were temporarily placed in the care of Denise while Brooke sought treatment for her drug issues at rehab. Thankfully, by December 2014, Max and Bob were back in their mom’s care.
However, the family drama didn’t stop there. In 2016, Brooke found herself in trouble again when she was hospitalized in Utah after an altercation at a bar. She was found with the kids and a nanny on Interstate 15. The Utah Highway Patrol assured the public that the children were safe and would be released to family members. Brooke was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, and the State Bureau of Investigation launched an inquiry into the incident. At the time, authorities weren’t ready to release more details.

In August 2018, Charlie approached the Los Angeles County Superior Court with a request to lower his monthly child support payments to both Denise and Brooke. He cited a “significant” change in his income as the reason for this move.
The following year, Max and Bob moved in with their grandparents while Brooke entered an inpatient trauma center. In April 2022, Charlie and Brooke came to a settlement regarding their child support case, although the financial details remained undisclosed. Their attorney, Gregory J. Pedrick, Esq., praised the couple for prioritizing the best interests of their children in a peaceful and private manner.
Charlie Sheen’s Push for Joint Custody
In January 2024, Charlie filed a motion for joint physical and legal custody of Max and Bob. The Anger Management star’s emergency request was granted, with conditions that included him gaining immediate custody of the kids if Brooke tested positive for drugs or alcohol. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the twins were primarily living with Charlie at the time, with Brooke having reasonable and flexible custody and visitation periods.
Brooke Mueller’s Involvement in Matthew Perry’s Death Investigation
In June 2024, it was confirmed that Brooke was questioned by law enforcement in connection with the death of Matthew Perry. The beloved Friends actor was found deceased in his hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. His autopsy revealed that the cause of death was “acute effects of ketamine.”

While Matthew had undergone ketamine infusion therapy a week and a half before his death, the medical examiner determined that the ketamine found in his system could not have come from that treatment. This revelation prompted the LAPD, in conjunction with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, to launch a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding Matthew’s death, suspecting that he may have obtained the fatal dose from someone else.
“They’ve been actively searching for Matthew’s killer,” an insider revealed. Brooke, a celebrity in her own right, met Matthew in rehab, and they formed an unexpected friendship. Despite being tight-lipped about the situation, Brooke has hired lawyers and had multiple meetings with law enforcement since they served her with a search warrant at her sober living house. She maintains her innocence and insists she had no role in Matthew’s death.
