When it comes to rooting for Team USA during the Paris Olympics, Hoda Kotb's daughters, Haley and Hope, are doing it with style and charm! The beloved Today show host couldn’t resist sharing a delightful picture of her two girls dressed in matching gymnastics leotards on Instagram this past Monday, July 29. These little cheerleaders are showing their support in the cutest way possible.
In the caption, Hoda proudly declared, “Team USA cheerleaders at home! @usagym @teamusa.” The photo captures Haley, who’s 7, and Hope, who’s 4, striking playful poses in their outfits, proving that even from thousands of miles away, they're fully invested in the excitement of the games. Meanwhile, Hoda, now 59, is currently in Paris with her Today colleagues, including Al Roker, Willie Geist, Savannah Guthrie, and Craig Melvin, covering the summer sports extravaganza.
One fan couldn’t help but gush, “The best!!! @hodakotb is really the best cheerleader and honorable mama to the women’s gymnastics team.” Another user chimed in, “So sweet!! Love that you & your girls are so excited over the Olympics!” Clearly, Hoda’s daughters are stealing the spotlight with their spirited enthusiasm.

Spending Quality Time with Grandma
Over the weekend, Hoda shared another heartwarming photo of her daughters spending time with her mom, Sameha Kotb. In the caption, Hoda wrote, “Ohhhhh just got this one,” followed by three red heart emojis. It’s clear that family moments are cherished while she’s away on this professional adventure.
But why did Hoda decide to leave her daughters behind in New York City instead of bringing them along? It’s a decision she explained candidly in a joint interview with Savannah Guthrie, 52, for Women’s Health on July 25. “I actually told my kids first, like, ‘You’re going,’” Hoda revealed. “They’re like, ‘Yay!’ But they don’t really understand the logistics yet.”

Why Haley and Hope Stayed Behind
Ultimately, Hoda felt it was in the best interest of Haley and Hope to stay home, given the potential chaos of her demanding work schedule in Paris. “Mom guilt is real anyway, so the guilt of being in the same country and going on shoots and wondering, ‘Where are they? Are they OK? What are they doing?’” Hoda confessed to the outlet. It’s a tough call, but one she made with her daughters’ well-being in mind.
Savannah Guthrie shared a similar thought process when deciding whether to bring her own children, Vale and Charley, to Paris. “We have to be really flexible with the schedule, so if we made a plan to go see the Eiffel Tower, it would be, ‘Just kidding. We have to go do something,’” she explained. “One of these days, we will!”
Making the Most of Paris
Savannah shares her children with husband Mike Feldman, while Hoda shares her daughters with her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman. Although being away from their kids isn’t easy, both moms are determined to make the most of their Parisian adventure.
Hoda even got the chance to meet one of her dream celebrities during the trip, sharing a photo with Tom Cruise after the opening ceremony. “Do you know when you dream of meeting Tom Cruise … And then it finally happens,” she captioned the Instagram post.

During a later episode of Today, Hoda reflected on the unforgettable experience, recalling how she wore a rain poncho while meeting the Top Gun star in the pouring rain. “He was just very nice to everybody, he was taking pictures with everybody,” she shared. Savannah added, “It’s so sweet he recognized you. And then he followed you to the gymnastics, you guys kept hanging out.”
