He had to sport a boot on his foot after injuring himself just days before school started. “He hurt himself on Sunday and was limping, so Lindsay took him to the doctor yesterday,” Craig explained during a Today broadcast in August 2023. “And lo and behold, he has to wear a boot for three weeks. Nothing says ‘first day of school’ like walking in with a boot on your ankle!”

But despite the challenges, Craig knows how important it is to celebrate the little victories. This summer, he headed overseas to cover the Paris 2024 Olympics for NBC alongside Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, and Savannah Guthrie. While he was busy broadcasting from France, his kids sent him a heartfelt video message. “Hi Daddy, we miss you. We love you very much,” Delano and Sybil said, bringing tears to their dad’s eyes.
