ABC News correspondent Rebecca Jarvis is not just a familiar face on Good Morning America but also a devoted mom and wife. Her life outside the spotlight revolves around her family of four, including her husband, Matt Hanson, and their two children, Isabel Noemi and Leo. Let’s dive into her heartwarming story of love, family, and overcoming challenges to build the life she cherishes.
Meet Rebecca Jarvis’ Husband: Matt Hanson
Rebecca and Matt’s love story is straight out of a romantic movie. The couple first crossed paths while studying at the University of Chicago. They reconnected later when they both worked at Bank of America, where they discovered their shared passion for finance. But it wasn’t long before Rebecca followed her calling to journalism, leaving Matt to continue his successful career in finance.
Rebecca once described Matt to The New York Times as the life of the party. “He’s the guy who can make any group of friends laugh, even in the most ordinary situations,” she said in January 2012 after their wedding at the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis. Their chemistry was undeniable from the start, and it only grew stronger over time.

Matt popped the question during a chilly December 2010 trip to Chicago. “I had no idea it was coming,” Rebecca admitted. “We were both freezing, shivering uncontrollably. When Matt reached into his pocket to pull out the ring, I couldn’t tell if he was shaking from the cold or pure nerves. It was one of the most magical moments of my life.”
Two years later, in 2012, the couple tied the knot, eager to embark on their next adventure: starting a family.
Rebecca Jarvis’ Journey to Motherhood: Two Beautiful Children
In February 2019, Rebecca and Matt welcomed their first child, a daughter named Isabel Noemi. “This is the most magical moment of our lives,” Rebecca told People magazine in March 2019. “Everything people say about becoming a parent is absolutely true. We’re overjoyed—Isabel is incredible.”
Shortly after Isabel’s arrival, Rebecca shared the first photos of her newborn on Instagram, expressing her overwhelming joy. “Your daddy and I have never known happiness like this,” she wrote alongside a sweet picture of her baby girl.
In November 2023, Rebecca and Matt announced the arrival of their second child, a baby boy named Leo, via surrogate. During a heartfelt segment on Good Morning America, Rebecca explained her vision for their family. “Growing up, I always imagined having two kids, just like my sister Lauren and I. We’re 18 months apart and incredibly close, so when I thought about our future, I always envisioned us being a family of four.”

Rebecca and Matt’s journey to parenthood wasn’t without its challenges. After experiencing infertility, miscarriages, and IVF treatments, the couple decided to pursue surrogacy to grow their family. “We feel immense gratitude toward our surrogate,” Rebecca shared. “She played such a vital role in making our dreams of having another child come true. I wanted to hug her and shower her with all the love we were pouring onto Leo.”
