Wynonna Judd is going through a tough time right now, and her friends in the country music world are stepping up to support her. The legendary singer is trying to keep it together amidst the challenges posed by her daughter's recent legal troubles. Fortunately, she's not alone—country music royalty like Dolly Parton are there for her every step of the way.
Wynonna Finds Strength in Friendship
“She’s been in such a fragile state ever since the loss of her mom,” a close source revealed exclusively to Closer. “Now, with her daughter Grace’s situation worsening, Wynonna is feeling an overwhelming amount of grief. But she’s fortunate to have a tight-knit community of friends in the country music scene who are checking in on her regularly. They’re there for her around the clock. Dolly calls to lift her spirits, others offer words of encouragement or simply lend a listening ear. Wynonna has faced hard times before, but this feels like the darkest chapter yet.”
Friends Step Up to Help Wynonna Cope
“She’s overwhelmed, panicked, and deeply upset,” the insider continued. “Trying to balance her demanding schedule while dealing with her relationship with her daughter is proving to be a monumental challenge. But Wynonna isn’t facing this alone. Her friends are rallying around her, calling her, inviting her out for dinner, and even sending care packages. They’re doing everything they can to ensure she knows she’s not alone in this fight.”

Challenges Pile Up for Wynonna
At 60 years old, Wynonna has faced more than her fair share of adversity recently. In August, her 28-year-old daughter Grace was arrested for the second time this year in Georgia. According to Carroll County Jail records, Grace faced misdemeanor charges for failing to use motorcycle equipment properly, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and attempting to flee from police. She was released the following day after posting a $2,750 bond.
Earlier this year, Grace was arrested again, this time in Alabama, where she was charged with prostitution, indecent exposure, and obstructing governmental operations. The incident occurred at the intersection of I-65 and Highway 14 in Millbrook, Alabama, where Grace reportedly exposed her body while holding a sign that read, “A ride for a ride.” This action formed the basis of the prostitution charge.

“When our officers encountered Grace, she was standing near businesses on Highway 14 near Murphy Oil by Walmart with a sign that read, ‘A Ride for a Ride,’” explained Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson to The Daily Mail. “She argued with the officers about the legality of her actions, insisting that offering herself in exchange for rides wasn’t illegal.”
Ultimately, the prostitution charge was dropped, and the indecent exposure charge was reduced to public lewdness. These recent incidents, however, are not Grace’s first encounters with the law. Back in 2017, Grace was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to manufacturing, delivering, selling, and possessing methamphetamine. She served three years at the Tennessee State Penitentiary and was released early in 2020.
Wynonna’s Family Dynamic
Wynonna shares two children with her ex-husband, including Grace and a son named Elijah. The country star has often joked about the contrasting personalities of her kids. Elijah, 29, works as a deputy at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department in Tennessee.
“I’ve got one on patrol, and I’ve got one on parole,” Wynonna quipped during an appearance on The Pursuit! With John Rich.

“I’m no different from anyone else,” Wynonna added. “I have kids who’ve made great, successful choices. But I also have experiences that have tested me. Both my children have moments where things haven’t worked out perfectly. Still, I’ll say this: My daughter is the strongest Judd woman in our ‘herstory.’”
