Mika also shared how she continued to run during both of her pregnancies. “Even on the day I had Emilie, I managed to run four miles. Nine months into pregnancy, I was still jogging in running tights, feeling like I was holding it all together. But then, some boys yelled from a school bus window, ‘Pick it up, you fat cow!’ That was tough, but at the hospital, I put a box on the ground in my room and stepped up and down, mimicking the constant, repetitive motion of running to keep my mind off the pain. With Carlie, I ran right up until labor started, but it stretched out longer. I couldn’t run the day she was born, and that drove me nuts.”
