"You sang ‘The Man That Got Away’—a song your mother famously performed in A Star Is Born—and it was the first time you'd ever done it live. Afterward, your father turned to me and said, ‘She sang that better than her mother.’"
"Oh, that sounds just like Daddy," Liza responded with a smile. "I cherish that story so much. He was incredibly proud of me, and it means the world to me to hear it. Mama was proud too, in her own way. Every mother has things they adore about their child and things that drive them crazy—it's part of the journey."
