Let's talk about Amy Robach, a name you might recognize from your mornings tuning into Good Morning America. This Michigan-born journalist, who became an official coanchor of GMA in 2014, had a career that many admired. But behind the scenes, Amy's personal life took some unexpected turns that eventually led her away from the spotlight for a while.
From Charleston to the Big Time: Amy Robach's Career Path
Before Amy became a household name, she was a young journalism graduate from the University of Georgia, eager to make her mark. She started her career in Charleston, South Carolina, at the station WCBD. Her talent didn't go unnoticed, and soon, she was offered a reporter position at WTTG in Washington, D.C. From there, her career skyrocketed as she moved up to anchor roles, eventually landing a spot on MSNBC. By 2007, Amy was cohosting Weekend Today, and by 2012, she had transitioned to ABC News, where she became a correspondent on Good Morning America. In 2014, she was promoted to cohost, cementing her place in the world of morning television.
Amy's journey wasn't just about climbing the career ladder; it was also about building a family. She married actor Andrew Shue, known for his role in Melrose Place, in 2010. This marked the second marriage for both of them. Andrew had previously been married to Jennifer Hageney, with whom he had three sons: Nathaniel, Aidan, and Wyatt. Meanwhile, Amy had two daughters, Ava and Annalise, from her first marriage to Tim McIntosh.

A New Chapter: Amy Robach's Personal Life
Fast forward to 2022, and things began to change dramatically for Amy. She was seen out and about in New York City with her GMA costar T.J. Holmes, sparking rumors of romance. Amid the buzz, both Amy and T.J. deactivated their Instagram accounts. Coincidentally, T.J. filed for divorce from his wife Marilee Fiebig in December 2022. Around the same time, Amy and Andrew sold their NYC apartment for a cool $5.2 million. Their divorce was finalized in March 2023.

Where Is Amy Robach Now?
Amy and T.J. were officially let go from Good Morning America in January 2023. An ABC spokesperson shared with Entertainment Tonight, “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”
Amy has since reactivated her Instagram account, and she and T.J. were spotted enjoying a romantic vacation in Mexico in February 2023. The pair has been seen holding hands around NYC, showing that their relationship is as strong as ever.
Living Together: The Next Step for Amy and T.J.
Amy and T.J. have taken their relationship to the next level by moving in together. In November 2023, they announced the launch of a new podcast for iHeartPodcasts. During an episode in September 2023, they discussed their living arrangement.
“Robach and I have been living together full time, as of two weeks ago,” T.J. told listeners. “It was not by choice.”
Amy explained the situation, saying, “Ava has an apartment in the Village. It has a massive roach infestation. Ava will be moving out of the apartment soon. They are getting a new apartment in this building away from this man, this hoarder. But in the meantime, I’ve got people all in my apartment living with me. So I’ve just said, ‘Hey, y’all, knock yourselves out. I’ll be at T.J.’s.’”

T.J. added, “This is what you do for your kids. I’ve enjoyed the time we’ve had together. It’s been a little different, but I’ve liked it.”
While things are going well, they’ve encountered one small hiccup. “It’s too damn cold at night. That’s an issue,” T.J. said, to which Amy replied, “That’s always been our issue. I like things cooler, you like things warmer.”
