Growing up, Ben didn’t have a typical childhood. His parents were Methodist ministers, which meant the family moved around a lot. In a 2018 blog for Guideposts, Erin revealed that Ben “didn’t really have a hometown.” It wasn’t until he settled in Laurel, Mississippi, with Erin that they found their forever home. During a July 2021 episode of the Biscuits & Jam podcast, Ben opened up about his nomadic upbringing. “We lived in all kinds of places—big houses, small houses, some pretty dumpy ones too,” he said. “But no matter where we were, my brothers were always there.”
Ben’s woodworking skills transformed their 1925 craftsman cottage into a beloved home that captivated Erin’s Instagram followers. Their lives took a dramatic turn when they filmed the 2016 pilot for Home Town. In 2018, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Helen, followed by Mae in 2020. The announcement of Mae’s arrival was particularly special because Jesse and his wife, Lauren, also revealed they were expecting their first child.

Ben’s bond with his brothers runs deep. “I grew up with built-in best friends. My three brothers and I speak our own language and know the dance when it’s time to move a piano into a house together,” Ben wrote on Instagram in April 2021. “Helen will have that same connection with her little sister. And knowing there’ll be another Napier baby right around the corner makes me even happier.”
Sam Napier: The Math Professor with a Heart of Gold
Sam, the eldest Napier brother, is a math professor who loves craft beers and lively debates. According to Erin’s blog, Sam has a knack for cooking and learning everything there is to know about mathematics. Though Sam keeps a low profile, Ben gave him a shout-out on Instagram in October 2021 for his birthday. “Know what today is? It’s Uncle Sam’s birthday!! My only older brother. He looks great in our flannel, too. Y’all tell him happy birthday!!” Ben wrote.
Tom Napier: The Trucking Enthusiast
Tom, Ben’s second oldest brother, is the “hot-tempered, unbearded Napier brother,” as Erin described him on her blog. Tom wakes up early and dreams of seeing the world from behind the wheel of a Peterbilt truck. He owns Napier Trucking in Baldwyn, Mississippi, and though his busy schedule means he doesn’t visit often, he always stops by when his routes bring him close to Laurel. Ben and Tom talk frequently on the phone, proving that distance doesn’t weaken their bond. They share a love for Duke basketball and cars, topics they discuss often.
Jesse Napier: The Youngest Brother with a Big Heart
Jesse and Lauren had their home completely renovated during an April 2021 episode of Home Town. Erin described Jesse, who met his wife on a dance floor at a wedding, as “crazy polite” on her blog. Jesse’s bond with Ben became even sweeter when Ben helped him build a crib for his baby. “From the moment we walked into the house, everything just made sense,” Jesse said in a June 2021 blog post. “Our style is mid-century funky ‘70s, and it was threaded throughout the entire design. That’s Erin’s best quality to me. You can tell her what you want, and she brings it to life in ways you never imagined.”
