Ted also shared the secret to their enduring partnership. "It all comes down to one key ingredient," he explained. "Both of us are willing to look inward when things don't go right. That mutual trust allows us to grow together. If you're with someone who isn't willing to reflect on themselves, it just doesn't work. It's about honesty, vulnerability, and a shared commitment to growth."

Ted went on to say, "I truly admire who she is. If I could be anyone else, I'd want to be her. She's taught me so much about love and life. She's trained me well—I mean it. I could do it!"

Ted and Mary tied the knot in 1995, marking the start of their beautiful journey together. Before meeting Mary, Ted was married twice—first to Randy Danson from 1970 to 1975, and then to Casey Coates from 1977 to 1993. Mary, too, had a previous marriage to Malcolm McDowell from 1980 to 1990.

The Golden Globe-winning actor described their marriage as nothing short of a miracle. "Mary Steenburgen came into my life after I spent a year working on myself, becoming more emotionally mature," he recalled during an episode of "CBS Sunday Morning." "I worked hard at it, and then she appeared. She's heaven-sent. We're so blessed. To love and be loved is one of those earth-shattering miracles, and that's exactly what Mary brought into my life."
