Kate, a mother of three who shares Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis with Prince William, reflected on the complexities of her journey. "The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you," she shared. "With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."

    Understanding the Journey

During her visit to the hospital, Kate shared her firsthand experience of post-treatment challenges. "You think the treatment has finished, and you can crack on and get back to normal, but that’s still a real challenge," she explained. "The words totally disappear. And understanding that as a patient — yes, there are side effects around treatment, but actually there are more long-term side effects." Her candid words offer a glimpse into the ongoing challenges faced by cancer survivors and highlight the importance of continued support and understanding.
