Hoda Kotb's New Morning Routine
Let me tell you about Hoda Kotb’s new chapter in life. On Monday, January 13, Hoda, at 60 years young, hit that snooze button on her alarm and realized something extraordinary—she didn't have to wake up super early for her gig at Today. That’s right, folks, no more 3 a.m. wake-up calls! Hoda shared a snapshot of her phone with those alarms turned off, captioning it with pure disbelief, “No alarm…whaaaaaaaattttt???”
Back in her hosting days, Hoda had alarms set for 3:00 a.m., 3:15 a.m., and 3:30 a.m. every weekday. Those early mornings were a part of her life for years, but now, she's embracing a slower, more relaxed pace. It’s like she's saying goodbye to the grind and hello to a new rhythm.
Hoda's Farewell and What's Next
Hoda marked her final episode as a Today host on January 10 with an epic celebration on the Today plaza, surrounded by her celebrity friends and fans. Now, her mornings are wide open, giving her the freedom to design her day her way. Her Today co-host Savannah Guthrie chimed in with, “Girrrrrrrrrrrl so happy for you plus why am I still awake.” It’s like Savannah was saying, "Hey, Hoda, enjoy this newfound freedom while I'm still stuck in the early bird routine!"

One fan commented, “Enjoy!! Take in each moment tomorrow, and every day. Smell the roses! You have worked so hard for this day! God bless you!!” And another added, “SO HAPPY FOR YOU. Enjoy your cozy morning full of snuggles and kisses.” These words reflect the love and admiration people have for Hoda as she transitions into this next phase of her life.
A New Schedule for Hoda
Hoda, who resides with her daughters Haley and Hope in a cozy suburban home, has already thought about how she'll spend her mornings now. She shared her plans with Today.com on January 9, saying, “I think what I’m going to do is I’m going to — I have it like a schedule because I wanted to frame a couple of days so I didn’t wake up and go, ‘Oh I’ll do whatever.’ And then you’re like, ‘Huh?’ So I kind of have my miniday planned.”

Though Hoda won’t be waking up at 3 a.m., she still plans to get her day started pretty early with an exercise class. As a mom of two, Hoda is also committed to taking her kids to school in the morning. She mentioned, “I will get them breakfast and walk with that cup of coffee to the school.” After dropping off her daughters, she plans to dive into her new wellness company project. “I’m working on a whole bunch of different things, but I’m going to do, from 9-11, two hours, work there,” she revealed.
Hoda also plans to use the afternoon for creative pursuits. She explained, “Then, for the afternoon, for 11-12 — that period of time, that’s where I want to really take time because you get creative when you have space. When you’re sprinting from place to place, you lose all your creativity. So I want to be able to have room to take walks outside.”
Hoda's Family Time
After her morning routine and work commitments, Hoda will pick up her daughters, Haley, 8, and Hope, 5, from school. She’s excited to spend more time with her children and watch them grow. “I’m going to let them find the voice inside them,” she said. “I’m going to let them take more trips and stay up a little later because part of the reason I put them to bed at that hour is because I’ve got to go to bed. I’m like, ‘Goodnight! Everyone’s going to bed.’ They’re like, ‘It’s 6:30!’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, lights out!’”
She added, “I’m going to let them fall and not get in the way and not try to scoop them up so quickly, like I usually do. I’m just going to let us be a family with a normal rhythm of life. See what we become.” It’s a beautiful vision of a life where family and creativity take center stage.
