As the show wrapped up its 14th and final season on CBS, Wahlberg decided to take a little piece of Danny Reagan with him. Not just metaphorically, but literally. And who could blame him? Fourteen years is a long time to be someone else, even if that someone else is pretty awesome.
Now, Donnie’s not just any guy—he’s the same guy who sang us through our teenage years with the New Kids on the Block. But when the cameras stopped rolling for the last time, he made sure to grab a few mementos from the set. “I took my two Danny Reagan costumes,” Donnie revealed to People in a heartfelt interview published on November 30. “My blue suit and my dress blues.” And he didn’t stop there. “I put them on mannequins and placed them proudly in one of our Wahlburgers locations.”
More Than Just Costumes: The Reagan Family Table Finds a New Home
But the props Donnie took weren’t limited to just his costumes. He also made sure to secure something that symbolized the heart and soul of Blue Bloods: the table and chairs where the Reagan family gathered for their iconic dinner scenes. “I really had no intention of taking anything from the set,” Donnie confessed, “until I learned that that table and chairs were just sitting in a warehouse somewhere, gathering dust. That’s when I knew they had to come home with me.”

This isn’t just any table—it’s the one where the Reagan family shared their laughter, tears, and everything in between. And Donnie has big plans for it. “I’ll set it up in one of our Wahlburgers locations,” he shared. “Fans can sit at the table, take pictures, and really feel like they’re part of the Reagan family.” But Donnie’s generosity doesn’t stop there. “And then, I’m going to raffle it off, probably for charity for the DEA, the Detectives Endowment Association, for the Widows and Children’s Fund. It’s the least I can do.”
Reflecting on Family and Legacy
Donnie, who has been portraying Danny Reagan since 2010, couldn’t help but get emotional during the November 29 special, Blue Bloods: Celebrating a Family Legacy. Reflecting on his time with the cast, he held back tears multiple times, emphasizing the importance of the show’s family-centric theme. “She’s my sister like on screen and off,” Donnie said, referring to his costar Bridget Moynahan, who played his sister Erin Reagan since the very first season. “I don’t want to get emotional, but I love Bridget a lot. We’re not here without her.”
A Possible Spinoff? Donnie’s Take
While the curtain may have fallen on Blue Bloods, Donnie isn’t ruling out the possibility of a spinoff. However, he insists that any continuation must stay true to the spirit of the original show. “There’s been a lot of talk about spinoffs, all types of concepts,” Donnie told TV Insider in October. “For me personally, whatever happens next, as long as it has family at its core and the spirit of Blue Bloods, then I’m all for it.”
“I’ve enjoyed working on it for 14 years, and whatever comes next, if it’s done with the same care and spirit that we tried to put into Blue Bloods every week, it would be something I’d look forward to watching or being a part of,” he added. CBS hasn’t officially announced any spinoff plans yet, but fans are hopeful that the legacy of Blue Bloods will live on in some form after the final episode airs on December 13.
