Even though Janet Leigh passed away in October 2004 due to vasculitis at the age of 77, her legacy remains alive and well through her two daughters — Kelly Curtis, 63, and the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis, 61.

Lessons from Janet Leigh

Janet’s oldest daughter Kelly Curtis shared a heartfelt message with Closer Weekly in the magazine's latest issue, currently available on newsstands. She revealed that her mom taught her to cherish life and appreciate the gifts bestowed upon her by God. Janet emphasized that compassion, self-reliance, courage, and humility are the most important qualities a person can possess and live by. These lessons have stayed with Kelly throughout her life, shaping her into the person she is today.

Jamie Lee Curtis also expressed admiration for her late mother's beauty, describing her as "undeniably beautiful" and "intoxicating" in an interview with HuffPost. Janet's charm and elegance were unforgettable, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Janet and Tony Curtis: A Love Story

Janet Leigh's beauty was not just skin-deep, but it certainly caught the eye of aspiring actor Tony Curtis at a party. He described her face as "exquisite," saying, "It just devastated me to look at this woman." Janet, on the other hand, was drawn to Tony's charm. They tied the knot in 1951 and remained together until 1962, despite the pressures of their growing stardom.

    The End of an Era

Jamie Lee Curtis once reflected on her parents' marriage in More magazine, noting how their bond deteriorated as their careers flourished. "And like any other save-the-marriage baby, I failed," Jamie admitted. Tony eventually left Janet for his Taras Bulba co-star Christine Kaufmann, a 17-year-old at the time. However, their marriage also ended in divorce in 1968. Tony went on to marry four more times before passing away in 2010 from congestive heart failure.

    A New Chapter

After her marriage to Tony Curtis ended, Janet found love again with stockbroker Robert Brandt. They married in 1962, and he remained by her side until her passing in 2004. Jamie Lee Curtis shared on The Talk that Tony was never interested in being a father, stating, "It’s not a slant against him, he was very clear." Janet, however, managed to balance her career and family life admirably, according to her daughters.
