Long before Sunny Hostin became the dynamic co-host on The View, she met and fell in love with her dashing husband, Emmanuel "Manny" Hostin. Their love story began well before Sunny became a household name, and their bond has only grown stronger since they exchanged vows back in 1998. It's a true testament to the power of partnership and devotion.
A Tale of Two Careers
While Sunny has flourished under the bright lights of television as both a correspondent and a lawyer, Manny has chosen a quieter path. But don't let that fool you—Manny has carved out an impressive career of his own. As a renowned sports doctor and orthopedic surgeon, he's earned respect and admiration in the medical field. Even though he may take a backseat to his wife's Hollywood fame, Manny's success speaks for itself.
The Man Behind the Scenes
According to his profile on Doximity, Dr. Hostin graduated from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and obtained his New York State medical license in 2002. His professional affiliations include some of Manhattan's top hospitals—Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West Hospitals, and Lenox Hill Hospital. If that wasn't enough, Manny also runs his own practice in Long Island City. Talk about dedication!

A Family That Grows Together
Manny isn't just a rockstar in the medical world; he's also an amazing dad. Four years into their marriage, Sunny and Manny welcomed their first child, Gabe, in August 2002. Then, in May 2006, their family grew again with the arrival of their daughter, Paloma. Both kids have grown up surrounded by love, support, and inspiration from their incredible parents.
Back in 2001, when Sunny was pregnant with Gabe, she made the bold decision to step away from her TV gigs. The couple moved from Washington D.C. to New York City to be closer to family. In an interview with Marie Claire in May 2019, Sunny opened up about the challenges of transitioning from a high-energy career to life as a stay-at-home mom. "I was on bed rest for most of my pregnancy," she recalled. "I knew I couldn’t tackle my career with the same intensity. We moved to New York to be close to family, and I tried being a stay-at-home mom. But let’s just say it didn’t exactly go as planned. I drove everyone around me crazy!"
Now that their kids are older, Sunny and Manny are enjoying watching Gabe and Paloma shine in their own ways. During an event in February, Sunny revealed how she manages to balance her demanding career with family life. "The only way, honestly, is that I prioritize them... and my marriage," she told Closer Weekly. "I’ve turned down more projects than I’ve taken on. If something doesn’t allow me to attend every basketball game or track meet, or take my son on college visits, it simply doesn’t happen."
The Secret to Their Success
When asked about the secret to their enduring love, Sunny credited their deep friendship. "We met in church and we’re both Catholic, so we made a lifelong commitment to each other," she explained. "We don’t believe in divorce. So, even during those tough moments when I can’t stand looking at his face one more second, I just step away, take a walk, or practice yoga. I know tomorrow will bring a fresh start. That’s the beauty of marriage—it’s about sticking together through thick and thin."
Manny truly embodies "husband goals," proving that love, commitment, and teamwork can create a lasting partnership worth celebrating.
