You know how there are those people you can always count on? Well, Marie Osmond is one of them. The beloved cohost of "The Talk" recently gave her fans a much-needed boost of hope by sharing some thoughtful advice on how to spread peace instead of fear during these challenging times of the coronavirus outbreak.
Marie Osmond Transforms Into Rosie the Riveter
In a fun and creative move, the 60-year-old singer posted a picture of herself with her face painted to resemble none other than Rosie the Riveter, the iconic symbol of women working in factories during World War II. "If you look closely at the photo … it’s me!" she captioned the image. "My face was painted to look like the famous #WeCanDoIt poster from 1943!"

America's Resilience in Times of Crisis
Marie went on to explain how our current situation reminds her of the days of Rosie the Riveter, when women stepped up in factories and shipyards during World War II. With the spread of the coronavirus across the U.S., millions of Americans have banded together to fight this invisible enemy. "Remember the helpers Mr. Rogers told us to look for?" she wrote. "Well, they are companies like Ford, GM, and Dyson, who have started retooling to make much-needed ventilators. There are also regular people delivering food to quarantined healthcare workers and going into soup kitchens to box up meals for seniors, children, and others in need. We’re giving Rosie a run for her money right now!"

Everyday Epiphanies
In her post, Marie shared a personal story that gave her a new perspective on the situation. She accidentally knocked over a bottle of peppermint oil, and as she cleaned it up, she realized she could still smell it immediately. This simple moment made her think about how easily the virus could spread, much like the oil. "Last night, I put a load of laundry in the wash and forgot the towels I used to clean up the mess were mixed in! When I put them in the dryer, I realized the oil was on everything because I washed them all together," she wrote. "It was a sobering reminder of how fast things can spread without us even realizing it. Fear travels just as fast as that oil and the virus."

Spreading Peace Instead of Fear
But here’s the thing, Marie also realized that peace can spread just as quickly as fear. "During these times, it’s easy to be afraid—we have good reason!" she assured her followers. "Our health and livelihoods are on the line. But if we choose, we can spread peace as easily as fear. We may not have control over the long list of things the virus has taken from us, but we do have control over finding some good in all of this."
A Time for Reflection and Togetherness
Since the outbreak of the virus, Marie and her husband, Steve Craig, have been spending time together at their home in Utah. The "Dancing With the Stars" alum shared that it’s been a blessing to have this time together after years of juggling parenthood and her busy Hollywood career. "We hope Marie and her family are staying safe during this unprecedented pandemic," a heartfelt message concluded.
