At a recent stop on her Courage World Tour, the applause was so thunderous that she had to cover her ears. “Thank you,” she said to the crowd, her voice filled with awe. “They left me in the Nevada desert for all that time,” she joked, referring to her long-running residency in Las Vegas, “but I escaped.”
A New Chapter After 16 Years in Vegas
At 52, Céline Dion is soaring higher than ever. After 16 years of performing in Las Vegas and the heartbreaking loss of her husband and manager, René Angélil, in 2016, she’s embraced a bold new chapter. This concert tour will take her to nearly 100 cities across the globe. “I’ve decided to rebuild my second half,” she explains. “It’s time to try new things. It’s time to take risks.”
Rebuilding Life After Loss
Rebuilding her life while ensuring her sons—René-Charles, 19, and twins Eddy and Nelson, both 9—thrived after their father’s death wasn’t easy. “René and I, we were one person,” she reveals. “When he passed away, I kind of felt like there was just one half of me left. It was hard. It took me to a place where I had to find myself again.”

Today, Céline feels more confident than ever about the endless possibilities life holds. “She’s running her empire and raising her kids,” a close friend explains. “She’s feeling strong, like she’s a grown woman for the first time in her life.”
