On a breezy Tuesday, April 21, Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, and Sean Hayes got together for a Zoom chat about the series finale of Will & Grace. But guess who wasn’t there? Megan Mullally, the 61-year-old actress who plays Karen Walker on the show. Her absence has sparked some chatter among fans, especially with whispers of a feud between her and Debra circulating around town.

Eric Speaks Out

Back in September 2019, Eric opened up to Us Weekly about the rumors swirling around the alleged tension between Debra and Megan. "It seems crazy. It is crazy!" Eric exclaimed. "I think people worry about it way too much. Honestly, the two of them are fantastic actors and great friends, but sometimes, the public just loves to speculate." His words carry a tone of disbelief, urging fans to give the duo a break.

A Look Back at Megan’s Comments

Megan herself seemed to hint at some workplace drama during a podcast appearance with her husband, Nick Offerman, in January 2020. She shared a story about being bullied, something she hadn’t expected to face at her age. "I’m 60, and I’m being bullied right now," she admitted. "It’s insidious and dangerous. It’s like you have to kill a part of yourself to deal with it, but I’ll never lose that happy, innocent part of me. It’s who I am."

Megan revealed that navigating these challenges has taught her to stand up for herself, though it’s not always easy. "I’ve realized over the years that if someone tries to push me around, I need to defend myself," she said. "But sometimes, confronting a bully can backfire. In a recent situation, I tried to stand my ground, and it just made things worse. The bully doubled down, making the situation even more intense."

She went on to explain how these experiences have shaped her. "It’s tough because I’m not naturally confrontational. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve learned the importance of setting boundaries. Unfortunately, sometimes standing up for yourself can escalate the situation rather than resolve it."
