She was clear about her confusion. “First of all, the timing here just feels really off,” Sharon said, leaning into the conversation with her cohosts. “Why would you do something like this now? It just doesn’t make sense.”
Sharon's Perspective on Cutting Ties
You know, cutting yourself off from the press isn’t as simple as just sending a letter. Sharon explained this to her cohosts, including Marie Osmond, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, and Carrie Ann Inaba. “You don’t need a letter to stop talking to the press. If you want to cut ties, you just stop giving interviews. That’s the easiest way to handle it,” Sharon said. “But you can’t stop the paparazzi. They’ll always find a way to sell pictures to the papers. That’s the reality we live in today.”
“Let’s be honest, the way the world works these days, you can’t stop the press. But here they were, doing such good work, staying low-key, focusing on charity, and then they send this letter. It just seems unnecessary to me,” Sharon continued. “Why go public with something like this? It doesn’t add up.”

Sharon's Advice for Harry and Meghan
Now, if you ask Sharon, the best thing Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, could have done was to quietly let their staff know they wanted nothing to do with the British tabloids. “It’s really that simple,” Sharon explained. “You don’t need to make a big deal out of it. Just let your team handle it and move on with your life.”
But Sharon isn’t unsympathetic. “I get why they’re frustrated. I understand their heartbreak over how they’ve been treated by the press,” she said. “They’ve been through a lot, but sometimes, saying nothing and focusing on what matters is the better option.”

Sheryl Underwood, 56, chimed in, agreeing with Sharon. “I think they should focus more on their charity work than worrying about sending letters to the media,” Sheryl said. “Let’s talk about the positive things they’re doing. They’re making a real difference in their community. That’s what people should be focusing on.”
“It just felt strange to me that they would address the media this way,” Sheryl added. “But I agree with Sharon. It was unusual, and their community service work is truly commendable.”
