Kristen Bell's book, released on June 2, is all about embracing differences and celebrating the things that unite us. Marie shared a moment from the reading, saying, "My grandma says purple people laugh a lot. We always laugh together. I mean, a lot. We laugh like, it says, 'like snot out of nose laughing.'" She then let out a chuckle and continued, "Look at that picture. Can you see the snot coming out of their nose? I don’t do that, do I?" Her playful tone and the book's engaging content made it an unforgettable experience for her grandsons.
Kristen Bell's Vision for the Book
In a May 12 interview with People, Kristen Bell revealed her inspiration for writing The World Needs More Purple People. She wanted to create something that would help children understand the importance of unity and inclusivity. "There are so many more things that bring us together than apart," she explained. "I want kids to think being a purple person is cool. I’m desperate for that to happen. Because in order for a kid to strive for something, they have to think it’s cool." Kristen's passion for creating a more compassionate world shines through in every page of her book.
Marie Osmond's Love for Her Grandkids
Marie Osmond is no stranger to cherishing moments with her family, especially her grandkids. As a cohost on The Talk, she often shares stories about her beloved brood. "I love doing anything with my grandkids," she says. "Whether it's going miniature golfing, coloring with my granddaughter, or pretending to cook in their play kitchen, they always make my day special." However, the ongoing pandemic has made it challenging for Marie to spend time with her grandkids in person. The last time she saw her granddaughter Rocket was on March 17, when she quickly visited to ensure her little one was okay before heading to Ohio to quarantine with her husband, Steve Craig.

Kristen Bell couldn't be more thrilled that her book is finally reaching children. "I hope kids take from it a desire to become purple and to teach their parents how to be purple, and to teach our friends how to be purple," she told People. "I hope this creates a whole new group of people that is non-exclusionary." With its powerful message of unity and acceptance, The World Needs More Purple People is sure to inspire a generation to embrace kindness and inclusivity.
