Even though radio legend John Tesh is stuck in quarantine, he feels incredibly fortunate to have his wife, Connie Sellecca, right by his side. In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, the accomplished pianist and pop composer opens up about how their stay-at-home lifestyle has turned into a silver lining during these challenging times. He shares how date nights at home with the Hotel star have become the highlight of their days.
“To be honest, I’m actually benefiting from all of this,” John, 67, admits in a heartfelt conversation. “Before the pandemic, my wife and I would go out two or three times a week. But now, with everything closed down, we’ve had to get creative. And let me tell you, my wife is an absolute rock star in the kitchen. She’s got Italian cooking down to a science!”
Quarantine Cooking: A New Adventure
While Connie, 64, isn't necessarily interested in cooking every single day, John takes full advantage of their date nights at home. “We’ve transformed our kitchen into a little Italian bistro,” he jokes. “It’s not just about the food—it’s about the connection. We laugh, we talk, and we create memories that we’ll cherish forever. That’s the real beauty of it all. I’m truly blessed to have her by my side during these uncertain times.”

Supporting Healthcare Heroes
This isn’t the first time John has celebrated his wife’s incredible support. The syndicated radio star is hosting a six-hour live Facebook fundraiser alongside Connie and their son Gib on Friday, April 17th, to raise much-needed funds for healthcare heroes across the nation. “We’re doing everything we can to give back and help those who are risking their lives every day,” John explains. “It’s the least we can do.”
A Journey of Strength and Faith
In the latest issue of Closer magazine, John credits Connie for being his rock during one of the toughest battles of his life—his fight against a rare form of prostate cancer. “My wife has been my anchor through everything,” he says emotionally. “When I was first diagnosed in 2015, there were moments when I felt like giving up. But she wouldn’t let me. She gave me the strength to keep going.”
