Being the daughter of the talented Blythe Danner is as entertaining as you'd imagine — and Gwyneth Paltrow is here to prove it. The beloved actress behind Iron Man left the audience in stitches while reading out some truly hilarious texts from her mom, the iconic star of Will & Grace, during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on May 7.
Mom Texts: Celebrity Edition
Gwyneth, now 47, couldn’t help but laugh as she read a series of quirky and relatable messages from her 77-year-old mom during the segment titled “Mom Texts: Celebrity Edition,” which was a special nod to Mother’s Day. “Can I come swim? My pool is 72 brrr,” Gwyneth hilariously recited. “Don’t have to eat. I have plenty… Actually, going for a walk. Maybe tomorrow… No, fine. I changed my mind. Didn’t want to get wet.”

After finishing the texts, Gwyneth couldn’t help but burst into laughter, shaking her head in disbelief. “My mother and I are neighbors in Long Island, so sometimes, I will get a text like this,” she explained with a playful smile. It’s clear that even though her mom’s messages can be hilariously random, they’re also a testament to their close relationship.

The Bond Between Mother and Daughter
Though Gwyneth took the opportunity to gently tease her mom in honor of Mother’s Day, there’s no denying how grateful she is to have Blythe as her mother. Their bond is truly something special. In fact, Blythe, who starred in Meet the Fockers, once revealed that her daughter wasn’t always the perfect little angel growing up. “Yes, [Gwyneth] was [naughty when she was younger],” she told Us Weekly back in March 2019. “I had old-fashioned parental parameters, and they didn’t always work.”
