Let’s talk about one of Hollywood’s most beloved actresses, Charlize Theron. During a candid conversation on The Howard Stern Show, the iconic Bombshell star revealed why being a mom to her two daughters has changed her perspective on marriage. At 44 years old, Charlize is all about her family and living life to the fullest without the pressure of finding "the one." Here's what she had to say about her life as a mom and why marriage isn’t on her radar.
When Charlize Theron sat down with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, she didn’t hold back. The two-time Academy Award nominee shared that she’s so deeply fulfilled by being a mother to her daughters, Jackson and August, that marriage simply doesn’t factor into her plans. “I have two great little loves of my life right now,” the radiant beauty told Howard, who is 66. “Life is filled with love. I have never been lonely. I have never felt alone.”

Why Marriage Isn't on the Agenda
For Charlize, marriage has never been a priority. Since adopting her eldest daughter, Jackson, in 2012, and then welcoming her second daughter, August, in 2015, her focus has been on raising her kids and enjoying every moment as a mother. “The thought of marriage has never been something that’s important to me,” she admitted. “My life right now is so full, and it doesn’t leave much room for anything else. I just can’t imagine adding the role of ‘wife’ to my already busy schedule.”

When asked about the possibility of love entering her life, Charlize was honest about her current mindset. “My life right now doesn’t allow room for something like that [a romantic relationship] to happen,” she explained. “But even if it did, I’m not sure I’d feel the need to find love. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to live with someone else again, to be perfectly honest.”
Charlize's Take on Love and Commitment
Charlize joked that if she were ever to open herself up to love, things might have to change. “They might have to buy the house next door,” she quipped. “I don’t know if I’m ready to fully commit to living with someone again. I’m too old for that kind of drama.” It’s clear that Charlize values her independence and the freedom to focus on her family, and that’s something she’s not willing to compromise.
Clearing Up Rumors About Sean Penn
During her chat with Howard, Charlize also addressed rumors about a supposed engagement to her ex-boyfriend, Sean Penn. She was quick to set the record straight. “It’s not true,” she said. “We dated for a while, but it was never serious enough to talk about marriage. It was a relationship, sure, and we were exclusive, but it only lasted about a year. He never moved in with me, and there was never any talk of marriage.”
