There’s no denying that Barbra has developed an unbreakable bond with her granddaughter. As a source revealed to Closer Weekly, “She spoils the baby completely. She buys gifts online from all over the world. It’s kind of out of control, but in the cutest way possible. Barbra simply adores babies, and Westlyn holds a very special place in her heart.”
This deep affection became even more evident when Barbra spoke about her relationship with Josh’s child during a March 2019 interview with The Times. “Oh my gosh! That, to me, is a real accomplishment, to have this little baby, this live thing in my life,” she expressed passionately. “I’m wearing a bracelet that Josh and Kathryn gave me, engraved with ‘Grandma.’ I never take it off. It’s a constant reminder of the love we share.”
A Special Moment for Barbra
Josh Brolin fondly recalls the moment Barbra received the bracelet. “She started crying,” he told People in June 2018. “She is really into being a grandma, and I love that she is into it. She’s the typical Jewish grandmother, and it’s absolutely amazing.”
Barbra’s husband, James Brolin, has also witnessed her transformation when around children. “The minute a kid comes into the room, she just changes as a person. All her fussiness about flowers or furniture placement just disappears. She becomes this warm, loving individual, and it’s truly beautiful to see her disarmed like that,” James explained.
