When Jennifer Garner was juggling life as a mom to three kids during the early 2000s, it wasn't just a whirlwind—it was a full-on circus. The star of "13 Going on 30" recently shared her candid thoughts on the challenges of parenting in Hollywood during a heartfelt chat with Kelly Corrigan on the "Tell Me More" podcast.
Life Under the Spotlight: A Mom’s Battle
“For a solid decade, there were always at least six cars—and sometimes as many as 20—camped outside our house, the school, and even the pediatrician’s office,” Jennifer revealed to host Kelly Corrigan in a late October episode. “And you’d find yourself pleading with them, ‘Please step aside from the pediatrician’s door. I’ve got a sick kid here… please.’ It was a constant battle to protect our privacy while living in the public eye.”

The 48-year-old actress, best known for her role in "Alias," takes her children’s privacy very seriously. She explained how relentless the paparazzi could be, making life challenging for her and her kids—Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8. "It’s the price you pay for being in the public eye, but it reached a point where it was just absurd," she admitted.

A Circus Everywhere They Went
“No matter where we went, it was like a traveling circus,” Jennifer recalled during the interview. The chaos was so overwhelming at times that one of her daughters had to stop playing soccer because the presence of so many photographers disrupted not only their family but also the other families involved. “My daughter tried out for the soccer team, but it turned into such a zoo that the other parents asked if she could step back. Can you imagine how that felt?” Jen shared, her voice tinged with both frustration and understanding.
Young Voices Speaking Loud and Clear
Interestingly, Jennifer wasn’t the only one grappling with the pressures of fame. At just 5 years old, one of her daughters had already crafted a speech about what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight. “She was so articulate and wise beyond her years,” Jennifer said fondly. “Even back then, she understood the complexities of being a child in the public eye.”
Despite the challenges, Jennifer believes her kids have grown into emotionally mature individuals who can navigate the ups and downs of life with grace. “They’re incredibly insightful and able to talk about things I didn’t confront until I was much older,” she revealed. “They’ve learned to process emotions in ways that truly impress me.”
