There aren’t many places left on Earth where Dave Coulier can walk around unnoticed. And honestly, he wouldn’t have it any other way. "Since 1987, Full House has never stopped airing. It’s been broadcast in over 100 countries and is still streaming everywhere," the beloved actor and stand-up comedian shared exclusively with Closer Weekly. "It’s almost impossible to escape it, but I wouldn’t want to. I’ve always loved the show and the character Joey Gladstone—it’s been a lifelong passion for me."

At 61, Dave revisited his iconic role as Uncle Joey in Fuller House, the continuation of the original series, which wrapped its fifth and final season on Netflix in 2019. "They say you can’t go home again, but we got the chance to do just that," he said fondly. But life hasn’t slowed down for Dave since then. Amid the ongoing pandemic, while his stand-up comedy tour has been on hold, he's been busy renovating his family home in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, alongside his wife, photographer Melissa Bring. "It’s been a whirlwind, but it’s kept us occupied during these unusual times," he adds.

On top of renovating, Dave is also working tirelessly to launch his latest project, Uncle Dave’s Laugh Emporium, a family-friendly TV comedy series that aims to bring laughter to households everywhere. "Keep scrolling to learn more about what Dave is up to these days!"

    Staying Busy Amidst the Pandemic

Life hasn’t slowed down for Dave and Melissa even during the pandemic. "We moved into our newly remodeled home right when the world shut down. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise," he explained. "We spent our days tearing down walls, ripping out old carpet, and doing all sorts of construction work. It kept us occupied and made the time fly by."

    Coming Home to Michigan

After nearly two years away from California, Dave and Melissa decided to settle back in Michigan, where they found a beautiful lakefront property. "It feels like coming home," he said. "Even though some of my old classmates are now bigger and balder, there's still a comforting simplicity here that I cherish. It’s a nice change from the fast-paced life in New York or Los Angeles."

    Early Days and Finding Comedy

For Dave, comedy wasn’t just a career choice—it was a natural talent that blossomed early on. "I’ve been playing hockey since I was 8, and I’d always mimic my teammates or coaches. Those moments in the locker room with an audience of 20 taught me the power of humor," he recalled. "One of my lifelong friends, Mark Cendrowski, has been there every step of the way. He’s now a successful TV director, having directed every episode of The Big Bang Theory."
